Nepal Flood Crisis Deepens: Nearly 800 Lives Lost, 32 Injured After Bus Crash in Nawalparasi

Nepal’s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) reported that the flood toll has climbed to 788, while at least 2,502 people remain missing. Rescue teams have so far saved 9,435 people from flood-affected areas.

On the Chinese side, 16 people have reportedly lost their lives, while nearly 550 remain missing in Tibet, according to Chinese media reports.

The Bhotekoshi River rose again on Sunday, days after a devastating flash flood struck the region. Nepalese authorities urged search and rescue teams in affected districts to remain alert.

The river flows south from the Himalayan border region and carried huge volumes of water into central Nepal during Wednesday’s flash floods.

NDRRMA warned that water levels had risen somewhat and urged all concerned personnel to take necessary precautionary measures.
