Young woman survives after tumbling downhill while filming reel in northern India

A young woman had a narrow escape while filming a reel in the hills of northern India’s Himachal Pradesh. The incident highlights the growing trend of content creators risking their lives for social media fame, as more people prioritize likes and followers over safety.

The incident took place in Chamba and the video went viral on September 15.

Visuals showed the woman standing on a rocky slope while lip-syncing to the popular song *Give Me Some Sunshine*. However, while attempting to descend the slope, she lost her balance and tumbled several meters down the hill, rolling multiple times before coming to a stop.

After the initial video went viral, the woman posted another video explaining that she was completely fine and had not sustained any injuries. In her follow-up video, she revealed that her foot had slipped while she was descending, but she and her friends ended up laughing about the incident. She shared the video to gauge people’s reactions and it quickly gained even more popularity.

Social media users were quick to comment on the viral video. Some expressed concern, asking if the woman was alive, while others made light-hearted remarks, with one user sarcastically commenting, “All that matters is the reel goes viral.” Another user, Sonali Sandhu, remarked on how people today are willing to do anything for followers and likes.

The increasing popularity of creating content for platforms like Instagram and Facebook has led many individuals to perform risky stunts, often putting their safety on the line for a few moments of online fame. Though the woman in the video survived, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers associated with such activities. Experts urge creators to be mindful of their surroundings and prioritize their safety over fleeting social media trends.
