Young man comes into contact with high-tension wire in northern India
A young man lost his life after coming in contact with a high-tension wire in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh.
The tragic incident took place in Mahoba district on July 2.
Visuals showed the man entering the temple with a long bamboo stick while a few people moved around. As soon as he entered, the stick touched a high-tension wire, and he was immediately electrocuted, resulting in his instant death. While others were shocked and confused, two men quickly approached the deceased and tried to administer first aid, but he was already dead.
According to reports, the deceased, Devendra age 35, had come to his maternal brother’s place with the offerings provided annually at the temple. Everyone was preparing for the religious ceremony and was busy making offerings as well as arranging flowers. At the same time, Devendra was entering the temple with a bamboo stick for the temple flag when it touched a 33 KV power line, causing him to be electrocuted and die in 22 seconds.
Reportedly, the body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem.
