A 24-year-old woman is recovering after a freak accident caused her to slip on soap and fall from a third-floor terrace, miraculously surviving the fall in southern India’s Karnataka.
The incident took place at Kanaka Nagar in the Hebbal area of Bangalore and the video went viral on June 22.
Visuals showed a woman, who had slipped on the terrace, was on the verge of falling when she managed to grab the balcony railing. Her husband quickly grabbed her hand, trying to pull her back up. Meanwhile, a crowd had gathered below, watching in suspense. Suddenly, the grip between the husband and wife slipped, and the woman fell. She landed on the parked bikes below, causing panic and commotion among the onlookers.
The bizarre accident left 24-year-old Rubaya, a resident of Kanaka Nagar, critically injured. The incident occurred while she was washing utensils on the terrace of her apartment.
According to reports, Rubaya slipped on soap and lost her balance due to the low parapet wall. She managed to grasp the edge of the roof and hung on desperately. Her husband, who was also on the terrace, tried to pull her back up but eventually lost his grip, causing Rubaya to fall from the third floor.
Rubaya fell onto bikes parked below, with the entire incident captured on a mobile phone by a neighbor. The video quickly went viral on social media.
Witnesses immediately called for help, and locals managed to flag down an auto-rickshaw to rush Rubaya to Victoria Hospital, where she was treated in the intensive care unit (ICU). Police reported that Rubaya is now out of danger and responding well to treatment.
