Waterlogging submerges major spots amidst massive rainfall in western India
In a recent incident in western India’s Maharashtra, heavy rainfall submerged major areas, causing major inconvenience to locals.
The incident took place near Oberoi Mall of the Goregaon area in the Mumbai district on July 8.
Visuals showed the alarming sight of widespread waterlogging, transforming roads into flowing rivers and severely hampering commuting. The situation rendered travel nearly impossible, highlighting the severity of the conditions in the region.

According to reports, heavy rain battered Mumbai and its suburbs, leading to widespread waterlogging on key roads and low-lying areas, causing major traffic snarls and disrupting normal life. Mumbai’s local train services were also crippled due to inundated tracks at several locations. Civic officials reported that the city recorded over 300 mm of rain at various places within six hours, from 1 am to 7 am.
