Warehouse inferno in northern India triggers blasts, sound cracks nearby buildings
In a terrifying incident in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, a massive fire broke out in a warehouse, causing multiple explosions that damaged nearby buildings.

The incident took place at Great Eastern Private Limited’s warehouse in Lucknow district on October 8.

Visuals showed thick black smoke billowing from the warehouse, the smoke looking massive and terrifying as it rose into the sky.

According to reports, the sound of repeated blasts caused cracks in nearby buildings, while smoke could be seen from up to 10 kilometers away. Firefighters from four stations have been battling the flames for over five hours, making more than 50 rounds, but the fire continues to flare up due to explosions in compressors containing washing machines, refrigerators, and other electronic goods stored in the warehouse. The fire broke out at around 10:30 am, and efforts to control it are being hampered by the dense smoke.

Chief Fire Officer Mangesh Kumar, who is leading the rescue operations, said the cause of the fire is still under investigation, though a short circuit is suspected. The rapid spread of the fire, along with thick smoke, has made rescue efforts increasingly difficult.
