Violent attack on Hindu Kashmiri family attacked upon return back to Kashmir in northern India
A Kashmiri Hindu family encountered violent hostility from the neighbours after bravely returning to their ancestral land and building a home there in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir

The incident took place at Verinag area of Anantnag district on June 6.

Visuals showed the group of individuals engaged in a heated altercation in the narrow lanes of the village. Old muslim woman was seen vehemently clashing, brandishing things, creating a chaotic and tense atmosphere. The confrontation escalated as blows were exchanged, with women actively participating in the skirmish, adding a layer of intensity to the unfolding turmoil.

The fight erupted when the targeted Sanjay Wali and his family recently built a house in Verinag, Kashmir. They were attacked by their neighbors just 24 hours after the election results were declared.

The Wali family, driven by hope and determination, undertook a brave journey to reconnect with their roots by building a home. Unfortunately, from the moment they moved in, they faced relentless mental torment from their neighbors. The hostility sharply escalated, culminating in physical violence. This brutal assault is not just an isolated incident but a haunting reminder of the dark chapter in Kashmir’s history.
The memories of that harrowing time remain vivid in the collective consciousness of the Kashmiri Pandits. Many families lost not only their homes but also loved ones in the violence that swept through the valley. The mass exodus led to the abandonment of properties, cultural heritage, and the disruption of an entire community’s way of life.
