Violence erupts in Bangladesh: Awami League president and two associates severely attacked by mobs

In a tragic turn of events GM Mohsin Reza, president of the Koyra Awami League, along with his driver and personal assistant, were killed by an enraged mob after Reza fired shots at a procession. The violence escalated, leading to the mob storming Reza’s residence and setting fire to his belongings.

 

The incident took place at Koyra Upazila, in Khulna District on August 5.

Visuals showed that after the mob severely attacked GM Mohsin Reza, the Chairman of the Awami League, chaos ensued as they set fire to his residence. The flames engulfed the room where Reza was located, and his body was found burning amidst the fire. The room was filled with thick smoke and the crackling of flames, creating a devastating and chilling image of the brutality that unfolded.

 

On Monday afternoon, GM Mohsin Reza, the president of the Koyra Awami League, was brutally attacked and killed by a mob in Khulna. The violence erupted after Reza fired seven rounds from his pistol at a procession approaching his home, injuring seven people. In response, the mob stormed his residence, beating Reza, his driver Alamgir, and his personal assistant Mofizul Islam to death. Following the attack, the mob set fire to Reza’s belongings, further intensifying the destruction.

 

The local police, led by Officer-in-Charge Md Mizanur Rahman of Koyra police station, confirmed the incident and are investigating the circumstances leading to the violence. The situation remains tense as authorities work to restore order and address the fallout from this deadly clash.
