Vigilant police officer rescues woman who slipped while trying to board moving train in northern India

A vigilant police officer jumped to the rescue of a woman, who slipped while trying to board a moving train in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh.

The incident happened at the Mahoba railway station when the female passenger was trying to board train number 1411 Jhansi-Prayagraj express on August 10.

Visuals showed the woman hurriedly trying to get into the train with luggage in her hand. She loses balance in the process and ends up falling down on the platform, perilously close to its gap between the train.

The police officer, identified as Neeraj Kumar Karwaria, was patrolling in the area when he showed promptness to pull out the woman from the platform and effectively save her life.

Karwaria was later rewarded cash prize and also a citation by Superintendent of Police of Government Railway Police (GRP) as recognition for his act of bravery and alertness. He also said that the satisfaction of being able to save lives is invaluable to him.
