In a surprising display of adaptation, an elephant living in eastern India’s Odisha, was spotted drinking directly from a tap.

The incident took place in Bharatpur forest near Bhubaneswar and the video went viral on July 16.

Visuals showed how calmly the big creature was drinking water from the tap showing his civilness that he learnt by being around the urban areas.

The tusker, which has become somewhat urbanized due to the sprawling city of Bhubaneswar encroaching on its forest habitat, showcased its ability to navigate and utilize human-made resources.

Residents of the area were both amazed and concerned about the incident, highlighting the ongoing challenges of human-wildlife coexistence as urban areas expand into natural habitats.
