In a lively wedding procession in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, bundles of cash worth $23,700 were tossed in the air, sparking chaos as attendees scrambled to collect the notes.
The incident took place in Devalhawa village of Siddharthnagar district, and the video went viral on November 19.
Visuals showed the groom, adorned in traditional attire, seated on a mare as relatives and family members showered notes from the rooftop of a house, filling the atmosphere with cheer and excitement. Guests climbed on two excavators to shower cash on the groom’s chariot. Meanwhile, a large crowd gathered to pick up the flying notes, adding to the commotion.
According to reports, the extravagant celebration was part of the wedding festivities of Afzal and Arman, residents of Devalhawa village. The cash spectacle left netizens stunned, with many commenting on the viral video. Locals reported that the family had arranged JCBs specifically for the event to enhance the grandeur of the procession.
