In a surprising incident in central India’s Madhya Pradesh, a hand pump in a village has been continuously releasing water on its own without any operation, leading to concerns about water wastage.

The incident took place in Mudhiya Kalan village of Dindori district and the video went viral on August 14.

Visuals showed water gushing out of the hand pump at a very high speed, highlighting the significant amount of water being wasted.

According to reports, locals stated that the automatic release of water from the hand pump has been happening since 2016. The continuous flow of water is due to the high water level in the area. Despite the benefits to the villagers, hundreds of liters of pure water are being wasted every day. In response, the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department has decided to dig a pond near the hand pump to conserve the water.
