Ugly brawl breaks out at polling booth in southern India
Polling operations were temporarily halted after a confrontation between supporters of two political parties occurred in southern India’s Andhra Pradesh.
The incident took place at Patha Krishnavaram village in Kirlampadi Mandal in Kakinada district on May 13.
Visuals showed people hitting each other with sticks. They were also seen landing kicks and punches.
According to reports, a confrontation arose between the followers of YSRCP and the TDP-JSP-BJP coalition outside the polling station. Kirlampudi, the hometown of Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham, who withdrew from the Kapu Reservation Movement and spearheaded the election drive for the YSRCP, was the site of the incident. The police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
This occurs amidst the 4th phase of Indian elections.
