Two women rescued in northern India after being trapped in lift for an hour
In a harrowing incident in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, two women were trapped in an elevator for an hour before being rescued.
The incident took place at JP Wish Town’s Cosmos Tower 51 in Sector 134 of Noida on June 24.
Visuals showed after being trapped in the lift, the door was finally forced open. The two women, visibly shaken, had to climb onto the security guard’s shoulders to safely exit the lift. The guard, standing firm, helped each woman out one by one, ensuring their safety.
According to reports, the women were stuck when the elevator suddenly stopped functioning. They began shouting for help, which alerted a security guard after about 20 minutes. The guard informed the maintenance team, but when the elevator door wouldn’t open, it had to be forcibly broken to free the women. Both women were shaken but unharmed.
Residents expressed their distress over the incident, accusing the maintenance team of negligence. They claimed that complaints about elevator malfunctions have been ignored for weeks.
