Two gunmen on bike shoot man in open street in central India
by Aditi VermaIn a chilling attack, two gunmen riding a bike shot a man in an open street in central India’s Madhya Pradesh, carrying out the crime with alarming audacity. The assailants fled the scene immediately after the shooting, leaving the area in shock and fear.
The incident took place in the Dabra area of Gwalior on November 7.
Visuals showed a narrow street, and a group of people standing together, talking amongst themselves. Suddenly, two individuals arrived on a scooter, one of whom got off and approached a Sikh man who was present at the scene. Without warning, the assailant pulled out a gun and shot the man repeatedly until he collapsed. As the gunshots rang out, the others in the vicinity, terrified, quickly ran away in all directions. After carrying out the attack, the shooter and his accomplice swiftly fled the scene on the scooter, disappearing into the distance. The street, once bustling, was now left eerily silent.
According to Gwalior’s Superintendent of Police, Dharmveer Singh, initial investigations led to suspicions surrounding Gill’s family members, particularly regarding a potential revenge killing for a 2016 murder that had earlier sentenced Gill to life imprisonment.
The police traced the shooters to Punjab after reviewing CCTV footage from hotels and guest houses in the area, revealing the presence of two men matching the description of the assailants. Their connection to Punjab’s Faridkot district was confirmed after sharing the footage with the Punjab Police. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the shooters, Anmolpreet Singh and Navjot Singh, were wanted for a previous murder case in Punjab and were associates of Arshdeep Dalla, a most-wanted terrorist based in Canada.
Following a joint operation by Gwalior and Punjab Police, the shooters were arrested in Faridkot, and two advanced firearms were seized from them. During their interrogation, the suspects admitted to killing Gill under Dalla’s orders, and they also linked their involvement to other targeted killings in the region. The police believe that their arrest has prevented further gang-related killings.
Dalla, the head of the Khalistani Tiger Force (KTF), has been a significant figure in the international terror network. His role in orchestrating murders, particularly within the Sikh community, has made him one of India’s most wanted criminals. The arrest of these gangsters sheds light on the ongoing cross-border criminal activities orchestrated by Dalla.
