Two bombers neutralized in terror attack at Military Headquarter in Pakistan

At least two suicide bombers were killed in an attack at the Mohmand Rifles Headquarters in Pakistan. Security forces are still engaged in a gun battle with the remaining militants in the area.

The incident took place at Mohmand Rifles Headquarters in Ghalanai town in the Mohmand district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province on September 6.

Visuals showed when the suicide bomber detonated the explosives, a massive blast occurred, sending thick smoke billowing into the air, visible from a great distance. The explosion was followed by a loud, powerful sound that echoed through the surroundings, shaking the ground and filling the sky with debris.

Two suicide bombers were neutralized in a terror attack on Friday at the Mohmand Rifles Headquarters located in Ghalanai, Mohmand district of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province. The military base, about 50 kilometers from Peshawar, came under attack early in the morning.

According to security officials, the attack was launched by five suicide bombers, two of whom were killed in the initial gunbattle. The security forces continue to search for the remaining militants while a clearance operation is underway to secure the facility. The encounter is still ongoing, with intense exchanges of gunfire reported from the site.

The Jamatul Ahrar militant group, a faction of the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), is suspected to be behind the attack. Mohmand district, bordering Afghanistan, has seen increased terrorist activity by the group in recent months, leading to heightened security concerns in the region.
