Two bear cubs rescued in northern India, search for mother continues

In a significant wildlife operation, the Wildlife Department and local police successfully captured two bear cubs in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir. 

 

The incident took place in Amnoo area of Kulgam district on June 15.

Visuals showed how the bear cubs were captured with a lot of difficulties and rescued and sent back to their habitat.

 

The cubs, along with their mother, had taken shelter near the Adpora graveyard, causing panic among the local residents.

 

Wildlife officials reported that the bear family had been in the area for several days, leading to concerns for safety among the locals. The capture of the cubs has brought relief to the community, who praised the efforts of the Wildlife Department and the police.

 

The search for the mother bear is ongoing, with officials advising residents to avoid roaming in their orchards until the mother is safely captured. The Wildlife Department has assured the public that there is no need to panic and that the situation is under control.
