Truck drags two men for 500 meters as brave locals step in to rescue victims
A truck driver dragged two men for approximately 500 meters under his vehicle, locals intervened to rescue the victims.
The incident took place in Agra district, Uttar Pradesh on December 22.
A video of the incident shows the truck driver pulling the two men along the road while some locals chased the truck, eventually forcing the driver to stop and free the victims.
According to reports, the two men, residents of Nunhai in Agra, were traveling from Waterworks to Rambagh when the accident occurred. Instead of stopping after the collision, the driver sped up, trapping the men beneath the truck, according to police reports. The driver was arrested, and the vehicle was seized by the authorities.
“In the accident, two youths were dragged by a canter driver for about 300 meters. Later, locals managed to stop the truck and rescue them using force,” said Chhatta Police Station Inspector Pramod Kumar.
The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Although they remain under medical care, their condition is reported to be stable.
A passerby on a two-wheeler allegedly recorded a video of the incident, which surfaced on social media, showing the victims shouting for help during the ordeal.
