Transformer catches fire in northeastern India, no casualty reported

A fire broke out in a transformer in northeastern India’s Assam, creating a panic-like situation in the area.
The incident took place at Borooah road in Guwahati city on June 6.
Visuals showed that on a busy road, a transformer was engulfed in flames, emitting thick smoke. Fire tenders were seen making efforts to extinguish the fire with water. A crowd of people had gathered on the road, witnessing the incident.
No loss of life or property was reported in the incident. Local police and a fire tender reached the spot and successfully doused the unprecedented fire. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
