Tragic! Ward boy thrashes elderly patient in northern India
In a disturbing incident in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, a ward boy brutally beat up a 60-year-old man who had come for treatment at a hospital.
The incident took place in Jhansi district on September 1.
Visuals showed the ward boy of the hospital twisting the elderly man’s arm and slapping him several times. The patient, identified as Gulab Khan, was seen pleading with folded hands, begging to be let go, but the ward boy continued his assault without mercy.
According to reports, Gulab Khan was receiving treatment in the emergency ward of Jhansi District Hospital. When he did not experience relief from the medication, he approached the doctor with a complaint. In response, the contract employee, Awadhesh Pratap Singh, took the patient to a holding room next to the emergency and severely thrashed him, accusing him of vandalizing the hospital.
The hospital administration quickly intervened. CMS Doctor Pramod Katiyar found Awadhesh Pratap Singh guilty in the investigation and directed the concerned agency to terminate his service.
