Tragic road accident on highway in western India: three injured as high-speed truck rams parked car
A fatal accident on a Highway in western India’s Maharashtra left one dead and three others injured after a speeding dumper truck collided with a parked car. The incident was caught on CCTV, sending shockwaves through the local community.
The incident took place on the Pune-Solapur Highway near Valhari village, which is located in the Yavat area of Pune district on August 21.
Visuals showed a car parked on the side of the road, with several people standing outside, perhaps tending to an issue. Suddenly, a large speeding truck appeared, barreling down the road. The truck slammed into the group, ploughing through the men and the entire car before continuing on its path. The impact was devastating, with 2-3 men and the car caught under the truck’s force. Miraculously, one man managed to escape just in time, narrowly avoiding the tragedy.

The accident occurred near Valhari village as the group was en route from Pune to Akkalkot for a pilgrimage.
The travelers had parked their car on the roadside after experiencing engine trouble. While they were standing near the car’s bonnet, the speeding truck approached from behind and rammed into the vehicle, causing a deadly collision. The horrific moment was captured on CCTV footage, which quickly went viral, alarming the local community.
One of the men, dressed in white, managed to run away just in time upon noticing the oncoming truck. However, the others were not as fortunate and were struck by the truck. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
A complaint has been lodged at the Yavat police station, and authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to this tragic event.
