Tragic collision: Lorry overturns over scooter after truck crash in southern India

by ShravyaTragedy struck on southern India’s Telangana highway as a lorry overturned onto a scooter following a collision involving multiple trucks, claiming a life and injuring several others.
The incident took place at Kothur junction on Bengaluru Highway on July 12.
The visuals depicted a highway operating smoothly with vehicles in motion. Suddenly, a truck entering the highway collided with another lorry already traveling on it. The impact caused the lorry to partially collapse, striking a scooter passing nearby and resulting in a severe collision.
Reportedly, Anjaiah, the scooter rider, tragically lost her life, while three others sustained injuries in a collision involving three heavy vehicles. A truck carrying stacked empty cartons overturned onto her. The pillion rider and the drivers of the lorry and truck were rushed to a private hospital in Shamshabad.
According to officials, Kothur Inspector Narsimha Rao stated that a lorry traveling from Shadnagar to Shamshabad made a right turn, resulting in a collision with a speeding truck from behind. The truck overturned, impacting a scooter on its left. Tragically, one person died at the scene, while others sustained serious injuries.
The incident has led to a case being registered under Section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation will commence once the road clearance is completed, the official confirmed.
