Tragic bus collision on National Highway in southern India leaves 30 passengers injured
In a serious incident in southern India’s Telangana, at least 30 people were injured when a private travel bus collided with a stationary bus.
The incident took place on National Highway 65 in Kodad town in Suryapet district on November 2.
Visuals showed the two buses severely damaged, with one of the buses cradled against trees off the road due to the intensity of the crash. The injured passengers were seen being rushed to the hospital, while hospital wards overflowed with patients suffering from severe injuries. Families accompanied the injured, visibly distressed and in pain as they awaited news of their loved ones. Some patients, sitting on hospital beds, were heard recounting the tragic incident.
According to reports, the Telangana Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus was traveling from Hyderabad to Vijayawada when it crashed into the stationary bus. Following the accident, the injured were shifted to a government hospital in Kodad, where authorities reported that several patients were in critical condition.
