Tragic accident in western India: biker run over by Mercedes after losing balance
In a tragic accident, a 41-year-old man named Kedar Chavhan lost his life after being run over by a Mercedes car in western India’s Maharashtra.
The incident occurred near the golf course at Yerwada, Pune city on June 18.
Visuals showed Chavhan’s bike skidding, causing him to fall on the road. Before he could react, a Mercedes car coming from behind ran over him, leading to his immediate death. The car, which halted after the accident, had a sticker indicating it was owned by the Serum Institute of India (SII), the company known for manufacturing COVID-19 vaccines. However, it remains unclear who was driving the car at the time of the accident.
According to reports, Chavhan, a resident of Padmavathi in Swargate, was working as a courier and was on his way to Pune Airport for a parcel booking when the accident happened.
The RTO office sources confirmed the car’s ownership, and the incident has raised concerns over road safety and the responsibilities of drivers on busy urban streets.
This incident has left the local community in shock and mourning the loss of Kedar Chavhan, who was simply performing his job when he met with this fatal accident. The authorities are expected to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the cause and any negligence involved.
