Tragic accident in northern India turns into opportunistic milk looting by locals
A tragic accident in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh quickly turned into a scene of opportunistic looting as locals surrounded a milk tanker involved in the crash.
The incident took place near ABES College on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Ghaziabad district on August 6.
Visuals showed a crowd eagerly filling large containers with the milk, ignoring the critical condition of the injured conductor and the deceased driver.
According to reports, a speeding truck collided with the tanker from behind. The collision resulted in the immediate death of the truck driver, 45-year-old Prem Sagar from Jharkhand, while the truck’s conductor sustained severe injuries.
Instead of assisting the victims, locals rushed to the scene with utensils, bottles, and plastic containers to collect milk spilling from the damaged tanker.
The tanker was en route to Meerut when the crash occurred. Police confirmed the death of the truck driver and are currently awaiting a formal complaint from his family to take further action.
