Tragedy hits northern India as two kids drown in flood due to heavy rainfall
A tragic incident took place in northern India’s Delhi where two kids lost their lives due to drowning in flood caused by torrential rainfall.
The incident took place in northwest Delhi’s Samaypur Badli area on June 29.
Visuals showed heart-wrenching scenes as family members wept while police conducted their investigation on-site. The visuals captured the tragic moment when the bodies of the two children were recovered from the flooded area.
According to officials, Delhi police stated that the drowning of a 12-year-old boy near the Siraspur underpass was reported at Samaypur Badli Police Station at 2:25 PM. Upon reaching the scene, it was observed that the underpass near the metro was flooded with almost 2.5-3 feet of water.
According to reports the victims, aged 8 and 10, lived in Som Bazaar, Gamri, within New Usmanpur. Allegedly heavy rains persisted across Delhi-NCR resulting in waterlogging, traffic disruptions, rain-related accidents, casualties, and injuries.
