Tourist vehicle accident in southern India due to over speeding

In the scenic hill station of southern India’s Tamil Nadu, a tempo traveller—a type of passenger van commonly used for group travel—was involved in a serious accident caused by over speeding.

The incident took place in Ooty town on June 9.

Visuals showed the vehicle, carrying tourists eager to explore the picturesque town, lost control and collided with a roadside barrier.

Fortunately, no fatalities were reported, but several passengers sustained injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Local authorities have issued warnings to all drivers to adhere to speed limits, especially on the winding and often hazardous mountain roads in the region. This incident highlights ongoing concerns about road safety and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations in popular tourist destinations like Ooty.
