Torrential rain in southern India floods streets, traps RTC bus

In southern India’s Telangana heavy rainfall inundated low-lying areas  causing significant disruptions.

The incident took place in  Nizamabad city on August 19.

Visuals showed a bus getting half submerged in the floodwaters and commuters finding it extremely difficult to board down the bus. The whole area had water level upto waist.

According to reports, the most alarming incident occurred near Railway Kamaan, where an RTC bus traveling from Armoor to Nizamabad became stuck in waist-deep water under a railway underpass. The flooding was caused by rainwater accumulating from higher areas. Traffic police, who were already on-site diverting vehicles, quickly sprang into action.
