Three-storey building collapses during renovation; fire brigade evacuates three families
In a startling incident in southern India’s Karnataka, a three-storey building crumbled to the ground during renovation work.
The incident took place near Dandu road in Bangarapet town of Kolar district on November 8.
Speaking to Newslions, Shivaraj CK, a fireman in Bangarapet, Kolar, mentioned that the building collapsed between 10:00 and 10:15 a.m. The building, owned by Raj Kumar, had been unoccupied for the past two months and was undergoing ground-floor renovations when the mishap occurred, damaging the compound wall of a nearby private school. Three families were inside the building and were evacuated by fire brigade personnel. Bangarapet police confirmed the collapse and stated that fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported. The debris caused significant disruption, blocking traffic on the busy KEB Road in Bangarapet.
A case has been registered, and investigations are underway to determine the cause of the collapse.
