Thirsty snake trapped in beer tin escapes after hours of struggle in southern India
In a peculiar and distressing incident from southern India’s Telangana, a snake found itself in a life-threatening situation after its head got stuck inside an empty beer tin.
The incident occurred in the Rythu Vedika field near the Nalgonda suburb of Kodimyala mandal of Jagital district on August 15.
Visuals showed the snake wriggling and slithering in desperation, moving back and forth across the field, unable to shake off the tin.
The snake, likely drawn by thirst or the scent of food, inserted its head into the discarded beer tin, only to find itself unable to pull it back out. The tin, carelessly thrown by some drunkards, became a trap for the snake, which then struggled to free itself.
Local farmers, who noticed the snake’s predicament, were too frightened to approach it closely and assist in freeing it. Despite their efforts to help from a distance, the snake remained trapped, its head firmly lodged in the tin.
As time passed, the snake’s movements became more erratic and desperate. Eventually, while moving through a thorny bush, the tin was dislodged from its head. The snake, now free, quickly disappeared into the undergrowth, likely exhausted but alive.
The unusual scene was captured by locals on their mobile phones, and the images quickly spread online, drawing attention to the incident. The event highlights the dangers posed by littering in rural areas, where discarded items can become deadly traps for wildlife.
