Terrorist hideout busted in northern India after six hand grenades recovered by security forces

In a significant security operation in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir, security forces uncovered a terrorist hideout, recovering six hand grenades.

The incident took place in Poonch district on August 28.

Visuals showed soldiers recovering grenades from a plastic cover and safely passing them to fellow soldiers. The cache was hidden in the Dachin Top area of Sindhra in the Lower Krishna Ghati sector, where a joint search party comprising police and Army personnel successfully busted the terror hideout.

According to officials, the operation, initiated around 3 pm, was based on specific intelligence received earlier in the day.

The development comes amidst heightened security and political activity as the region gears up for the 2024 J-K Assembly polls. The elections, set to take place in three phases starting September 18, will involve 90 Assembly constituencies spread across Jammu and Kashmir.
