After a spate of wolf attacks in Uttar Pradesh, now jackals are spreading terror in central India’s Madhya Pradesh. Six people have been injured in separate incidents, creating panic among villagers and prompting local authorities to issue warnings.

 

The incident took place at Sagoniya village in Rehti tehsil of Sehore district on September 9.

Visuals showed on a road in Sagoniya village, Sehore district, a man was walking when a jackal suddenly attacked him. The jackal lunged at him, clamping onto his body and causing severe injuries. The man was seen struggling as the jackal bit and clawed him. After the attack, he was rushed to the hospital, where he received medical treatment for his injuries. The incident was marked by visible distress and chaos as bystanders and emergency responders tended to the injured man.

 

A wave of fear has gripped the villagers of Sehore district’s Rehti tehsil following a series of jackal attacks that left six people injured. The incidents occurred in the villages of Sagoniya, Gehun Kheda, and other nearby areas. On Monday evening around 5 p.m., two residents, Shyam Yadav and Narmada Prasad, were attacked by a jackal while sitting near the Panchayat Bhawan in Sagoniya village. Both were seriously injured and had to be rushed to Narmadapuram District Hospital for treatment.

 

Earlier that day in Salakpur, five people were attacked by another jackal, leaving two in critical condition. The attacks, which have escalated unexpectedly, have caused widespread panic among local residents. Videos from CCTV cameras captured one of the attacks, heightening concerns.

 

The Forest Department immediately provided financial assistance to the victims, while local administration officials, including Gram Panchayat Assistant Secretary Ramkrishna Uike, have urged villagers to remain vigilant and avoid venturing out alone. In light of these sudden jackal attacks, the administration has issued a warning, advising residents to be cautious.

 

This comes on the heels of similar wolf attacks in Uttar Pradesh, which have already left many injured and alarmed. The unexpected rise in jackal attacks in Madhya Pradesh has only added to the atmosphere of fear, pushing authorities to take swift action.
