This accident occurred in Ambedkar Nagar district, in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, on January 27.
Visuals show a man crossing the tracks at a closed railway barrier with his bicycle. The student follows the man, trying to cross the tracks with her cycle in a hurry by ducking under the closed-level crossing. As she runs towards the track, the freight train suddenly strikes her, resulting in her immediate death.
According to sources, the deceased was a college student. Police and local officials have initiated an investigation into the accident. The authorities warned the public not to cross the tracks when the railway crossing is closed.
