A deadly cobra wraps around a gas stove, sending terrified residents fleeing for their lives.

The incident took place in the Patharripara area of Korba district in Chhattisgarh, central India on December 23.

Visuals show the cobra coiled around the gas stove, acting aggressively and instilling terror. The snake was later released into a forested area under the cover of darkness.

According to reports, the incident took place around 9 PM when a woman, preparing dinner, was startled to find a 5-foot cobra near the stove. As she reached to ignite it, she came face-to-face with the venomous snake, coiled tightly around the appliance.

Terrified, she quickly alerted her family, and local residents called a snake rescue team. Atul Soni and Umesh Yadav, team members, arrived cautiously at the scene.

Using specialized techniques, the team calmed the snake and safely removed it, though the operation was difficult due to the cobra being wedged in the stove and ready to strike.

Snake experts explained that cobras often seek warmth in homes during colder weather, making gas stoves an attractive refuge. After being safely captured, the snake was released back into the wild.

The incident has sparked local discussions, with residents becoming more vigilant and planning preventive measures. The Forest Department and snake rescue team have urged the public to report such sightings immediately and to handle them calmly.
