Teenager steals crores of cash from bride’s mother at hotel during blessing ceremony in northern India
In a shocking incident at a hotel in northern India’s Rajasthan, a teenager stole a bag containing ₹1.5 crore ( $1,800,000 USD) in cash and jewelry from the mother of the groom during a blessing ceremony. The entire theft was captured on CCTV within just one minute.
The incident took place at Hyatt Hotel, located in the Muhana area of Jaipur on August 8.
Visuals showed during the wedding event, while relatives and family members were engrossed in a ceremony inside the hall, there was no one around the area where the cash-filled bag was kept. Seizing the opportunity, a teenage boy quietly approached the unattended bag, swiftly grabbed it, and made a quick getaway.
A dramatic theft occurred at the Hyatt Hotel in Jaipur, where a destination wedding was being celebrated. The groom’s family, hailing from Telangana, had booked the hotel for the wedding festivities. During a blessing ceremony, a 14-year-old boy managed to snatch a bag filled with cash and valuable jewelry from the groom’s mother.
The teenager and his accomplice, who had arrived with the wedding procession, had been observing the area closely. They entered the hotel alongside the wedding party and took advantage of a brief moment to steal the unattended white bag. The entire theft was recorded by the hotel’s CCTV cameras.
Authorities have used the footage to trace the route taken by the thieves as they exited the hotel. The police are actively searching for the minor and his accomplice, using the CCTV evidence to aid their investigation.
