Student protestors clash with police, break barricades in northern India over exam schedule demands
In a tense confrontation in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, UPPSC aspirants protesting over the exam schedule broke barricades outside the commission’s office.
The incident took place at Gate No. 2 of the UPPSC office in Prayagraj district on November 14.
Visuals showed the massive number of students clashing with the police as they jumped over the barricades, causing them to collapse. The students pushed through, attempting to reach the office gate while the police tried to hold them back, leading to a chaotic and stressful situation. The scene became intense as the protests escalated.
According to reports, the aspirants were demanding a ‘one day, one shift’ exam schedule when they broke through the barricades. Meanwhile, Prayagraj Police have alleged that criminal miscreants infiltrated the protest and tried to mislead the students. DCP Prayagraj, Abhishek Bharti, stated, “The students are protesting peacefully. We urge them to continue their constitutional protest. Some anti-social elements with criminal backgrounds infiltrated the protest and caused damage to public property. Cases have been registered, and these elements are being identified and questioned.”
