Streets flooded in southern India as heavy rainfall wreaks havoc
Heavy rainfall wreaked havoc, leaving streets of southern India’s Telangana flooded.
This happened in Hyderabad on July 24.
Visuals showed the streets of the city completely flooded with rainwater. Cars made their way through the water-logged road even as the downpour continued to beat down the city. Water also sprouted out of what seemed like a manhole by the side of the road. Two youths, who didn’t have an umbrella were caught in the rainfall and had to use a plank of plywood which they had at their disposal to shield themselves from the downpour.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for the city of Hyderabad. Besides, they have also stated that the Ranga Reddy, Medchal, Vikharabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mehboobnagar, Nagarkurnol, Siddipet, Jangaon, Rajanna Sircilla, and Karimnagar areas of the state would receive heavy to extremely heavy rainfall.
