A video of a stray dog resting on a hospital bed at the district hospital has gone viral, raising concerns about the cleanliness and management of the facility. Patients and attendants have complained about stray animals freely roaming the wards and emergency areas.

The incident took place at Babu Banarasi Das District Hospital in Bulandshahr on September 12.

Visuals showed a stray dog was comfortably lying on a hospital bed when someone eventually shooed it away. The dog then joined a group of three other dogs resting calmly under the hospital beds. Around them, several patients were present, watching in surprise and disbelief. People were shocked to see multiple stray dogs roaming freely inside the hospital, lounging among the patients without any hindrance.

In a shocking display of negligence, a stray dog was found relaxing on a bed in the district hospital’s ward. The incident came to light when a visitor recorded the dog lying comfortably on a patient’s bed and shared the video on social media. The video quickly went viral, sparking outrage and questions about the hospital’s cleanliness and management.

Patients and their attendants expressed concern about the presence of stray animals in the hospital, stating that it was not the first time dogs were seen wandering freely in both the wards and emergency areas. Complaints were made to the hospital staff and doctors, following which the dog was shooed away. However, the dog reportedly sat under the bed after being chased off.

Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Vinay Kumar Singh, when informed of the situation, stated that he was unaware of the issue. He assured that a thorough inspection of the hospital would be carried out and appropriate measures would be taken to prevent such occurrences in the future. The CMO further mentioned that an inquiry would be made into why the dog was able to enter the ward, and staff found neglecting their duties would face disciplinary action.

The incident has once again highlighted the gaps in hospital management and hygiene practices, with patients left vulnerable in an environment meant for their care.
