Stranded police personnel in southern India rescued from flooded forests after four-day ordeal

In a dramatic rescue operation, twenty police personnel stranded in the dense forest regions of southern India’s Telangana were safely rescued.

The incident took place in Elimedi forest area in the Mulugu district at the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border on July 22.

Visuals showed the police personnel being dramatically airlifted by rescue officials, suspended high above the chaotic scene. The intense footage captured the urgency and tension of the operation, with helicopters hovering perilously close and rescue teams working against the clock to ensure the officers’ swift and safe evacuation from the challenging situation.

According to reports, the team embarked on a special operation in the forest five days ago. During their return, they became trapped near Penugolu Vagu, which had overflowed due to heavy rainfall. As the floodwaters receded on Monday, the police team was airlifted by helicopter to Wazeedu. Once in Wazeedu, they were immediately taken to a hospital for a medical checkup following their five-day ordeal in the forest.
