Steve Jobs’ wife Laurene Powell Jobs attends Mahakumbh Mela in India
Laurene Powell Jobs, the wife of late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, is in India to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela, a major pilgrimage and festival in Hinduism occurring once in 12 years.
This sacred festival is occurring in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, in Prayagraj, from January 13 to February 26.
Visuals show Laurene Powell Jobs in traditional Indian attire, visiting the Varanasi Kashi temple to offer her prayers from outside the temple before heading to Mahakumbh. Later, the other day, she is seen participating in the coronation (pattabhishek) ceremony of Vyasanand Giri Maharaj.
According to sources, she will stay for Mahakumbh and is also planning to take a dip in the Ganga. She was bestowed with a Hindu name, ‘Kamala,’ as a gesture of respect and inclusion by Niranjani Akhara, a reserved organization of saints.
Mahakumbh, a sacred pilgrimage and celebration of faith, is organized only in Prayagraj after every twelve years. Additionally, Mahakumbh 2025 is more special not only because of its religious significance but also because of the rare celestial alignment that occurs only once every 144 years. This incredible festival draws millions of devotees and travellers from all corners of the globe.
