Startling! Python found stranded after swallowing honey badger in central India

In a remarkable incident in central India’s Madhya Pradesh, a python was stranded on a road after swallowing a honey badger.

The incident took place in Sohagpur village of Betul district on September 10.

Visuals showed the python being rescued in the dark with vehicle lights illuminating the scene. The snake catchers were seen lifting the massive python and pressing its stomach to help expel the prey. Gradually, the snake opened its mouth, and the honey badger was successfully removed.

According to reports, the prey was heavier than the python’s weight, making it impossible for the snake to cross the road. Villagers alerted the snake catchers, who arrived at the spot despite rescue challenges due to darkness. Snake catchers Vishal Vishwakarma and Ankit Vishwakarma reported that the python was about 10 feet long. Once the rescue was completed, the honey badger was released into the forest, and the python was also safely returned to its habitat.
