Staff conduct donation theft at temple in southern India
In a shocking incident, two men were arrested for stealing donation money from a temple in southern India’s Karnataka.

The incident took place at the Gaali Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Bengaluru’s Byatarayanapura and the video went viral on September 29.

Visuals show two people counting donations at the temple, with one secretly passing a bundle of cash to the other. In separate footage, the same individual is seen handing over cash to someone resembling a priest while another person walks around with the money.

In response to the outcry, the temple’s head priest, Ramachandra, addressed reporters and clarified that the incident occurred over a year ago. He stated that the temple administration took swift action at that time, resulting in the suspension of two executive committee members for their involvement in the fund misappropriation. Additionally, two cooks were implicated in the scheme and banned from returning to the temple.
