In a shocking incident at a toll plaza in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, a toll booth employee was struck by a speeding car.

The incident took place in Chhajarsi in Hapur district on June 7.

Visuals showed the car driver, in an apparent attempt to avoid paying the toll, accelerated through the plaza, hitting the employee who was attempting to stop the vehicle.

The employee, whose identity has not been disclosed, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities are investigating the incident and are on the lookout for the driver, who fled the scene immediately after the collision.

Police have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward as they continue their search for the suspect.
