Speeding car drags scooter for 15 kilometers after collision in northern India
An uncontrollable car dragged a scooter for about 15 kilometers after the accident in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh.
The incident took place in the service lane of Agra-Kanpur National Highway in Katfori of Firozabad district on August 10.
Visuals captured the speeding car with several bikers attempting to chase and halt it, but the vehicle continued unabated.
According to the reports, around 150 bikers, along with police from three stations, pursued the vehicle. The pursuit ended when the car was cornered near a warehouse in Jaswantnagar, Etawah, roughly 15 kilometers away. The three occupants of the Scorpio were subsequently arrested.
According to the police, a man on a scooter was buying vegetables when the erratic Scorpio struck him from behind. The impact caused the scooter to become entangled with the Scorpio, which did not stop. The car dragged the scooter onto the highway, causing sparks that eventually ignited a fire in the Scorpio’s front wheel.
The police have filed a case against the accused under relevant sections and are investigating the incident. The suspects, identified as Rahul from Semra village, Virpal Singh from Nagla Sita village, and Kaushalendra, have been transferred to Sirsaganj police station in Firozabad district, according to SI Sant Kumar of Jaswant Nagar police station.
