Speeding car drags man for kilometres over domestic dispute

In a shocking incident, a man was struck by a speeding car and clung to its bonnet as he was dragged for several kilometres.

The incident occurred in the Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh, and a video of the event went viral on January 15.

The visual shows a man hanging onto the bonnet of a fast-moving car, being dragged for some distance. Instead of stopping, the driver continued to accelerate. When the car eventually stopped a few kilometres later, a heated exchange ensued between the man on the bonnet and the driver.

According to reports, the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute between a husband and wife who had been living apart for eight years. Upon seeing his wife walking with another man, the husband was reportedly overcome with emotion and climbed onto the bonnet of the car she was in.

The Uttar Pradesh Police directed the Majhola police to take action. However, the Majhola police clarified that the case falls under the jurisdiction of Katghar police. When approached, Katghar police stated they were unaware of the incident. The Moradabad Police later confirmed that an investigation and necessary actions were underway.

Late in the evening, SP City Kumar Ranvijay Singh stated that the dispute between the estranged husband and wife was the root cause of the incident. The wife, who had been living separately from her husband for eight years, was in the car when her husband climbed onto its bonnet after seeing her with another man.
