Sparkling Surprise! Indian Laborer Unearths  5.87-Carat Diamond Fom Shallow Mine

A laborer from central India’s Madhya Pradesh, struck gold figuratively when he unearthed a dazzling 5.87-carat diamond while excavating a shallow mine.

The incident took place at Krishna Kalyanpur Patti, a shallow diamond mine area located in the Panna district on November 20.

Visuals showed the man standing inside the diamond office, watching intently as experts examined his sparkling discovery. Under bright lights, the rare gem gleamed as it was meticulously measured and weighed on a precise scale. The man’s face reflected a mix of awe and hope, capturing the moment his fortune unfolded.

The diamond will be auctioned on December 4 at the Collectorate building, alongside 80 other diamonds, collectively weighing 241.47 carats with an estimated total value of ₹3.8 crore.

Surendra Singh plans to use the proceeds from the auction to improve his financial condition. Panna’s mineral inspector praised the find and highlighted the region’s rich diamond reserves, which continue to transform the lives of local laborers.

This rare find is yet another testament to the wealth hidden in Panna’s diamond mines, bringing hope to many who work tirelessly in these mines.
