Snakes found breeding in women’s bathroom at college amid poor sanitation in southern India

In a startling incident in southern India’s Tamil Nadu, a nest of snakes was discovered breeding inside the commode of a women’s bathroom.

The incident took place at Arignar Anna Government College in Tiruvannamalai city and the video went viral on September 4.

Visuals showed a dingy toilet, with a commode visibly dirty and filled with breeding snakes.

According to reports, the college, which serves over 8,500 students, has long been plagued by sanitation issues, with bathrooms reportedly unsanitary and unusable. Floors were covered in mud, and cleaning efforts were neglected, creating a snake breeding ground. A video showing the nest highlights the severity of the hygiene crisis.

Students have expressed fear and disgust at the unsanitary conditions, with the discovery raising concerns about the safety and hygiene standards on campus.
