Snake sighting on bus causes panic among passengers in southern India

A snake sighting on the rear glass of a BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) bus in southern India’s Karnataka caused panic among passengers. The snake was first noticed by a canter driver following the bus, prompting the bus driver to stop and investigate.

The incident took place at KR Puram Marg in Bengaluru on September 6.

Visuals showed an electric bus had a snake tangled and hidden in the rear section. When people spotted it, they started recording videos, capturing the chaotic scene. There was a lot of commotion and panic among the onlookers after the snake was noticed. The snake was tightly wrapped and appeared stuck in the bus’s rear area, creating a tense atmosphere as passengers and passersby gathered to witness the unusual sight.

On a routine afternoon commute from KR Market to KR Puram, passengers aboard a BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) bus experienced a scare when a snake was spotted stuck on the rear glass of the bus. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. on friday and involved an electric bus from Depot 29, KR Puram Marg.

The snake was first noticed by a vigilant canter driver who was driving behind the bus. He immediately alerted the bus driver about the presence of the snake. Responding quickly to the warning, the bus driver pulled over to the side of the road to assess the situation. Upon inspection, it was confirmed that a snake was indeed present on the rear side of the bus.

The sight of the snake understandably caused concern among the passengers, some of whom were visibly anxious and worried about their safety. Fortunately, no one was injured, and the snake did not enter the passenger compartment. The authorities were informed promptly, and the situation was managed without any further incident.

BMTC officials later reported that the snake had likely crawled onto the bus while it was parked or in transit and got stuck on the glass. The bus was taken back to the depot for further inspection, and efforts were made to ensure the safety of all passengers in future trips. BMTC is expected to take additional precautions to prevent such incidents from occurring again, including thorough inspections and pest control measures.

The incident serves as a reminder of the unexpected encounters one can face during daily commutes and the importance of remaining vigilant and calm in such situations.
