Snake found inside 5th grader’s school bag in central India, causes panic at school

A shocking incident occurred in central India’s Chattisgarh, when a snake was found inside a 5th-grade student’s school bag, causing widespread panic among students and staff.

The incident took place at  Atmanand School in Naumuda village in Mainpur block of Gariaband district and the video went viral on September 21.

Visuals showed a man stood cautiously with a stick in hand, gently shaking a school bag, attempting to coax the snake out. The bag, slightly open, moved with each nudge, as the man kept his distance, focused on getting the snake to emerge safely. The surrounding area appeared tense, with onlookers maintaining a safe distance, their eyes fixed on the bag, anticipating the moment when the snake would come out. The man’s careful movements showed both his concern for safety and his intent to resolve the situation calmly.

The student, unaware of the snake, opened her bag during school hours, only to be greeted by the reptile. The sight of the snake immediately caused a commotion, with teachers and students rushing to safety. School authorities quickly alerted local wildlife officials, who arrived at the scene to safely remove the snake. Fortunately, no one was harmed, and the snake was later released into the wild.

The presence of the snake raised concerns about the safety of the school’s premises, and the administration assured that steps would be taken to prevent such incidents in the future. Authorities are now investigating how the snake managed to get into the child’s bag and whether additional precautions are needed to ensure the safety of the students.
