Smugglers crash pickup truck into officials in attempt to flee drug bust
Drug smugglers attempted to flee from Narcotics officials by ramming their pickup truck into official and civilian vehicles while trying to escape during an operation to intercept a drug shipment.
The incident occurred at the Hanging Bridge Toll in Kota, Rajasthan on November 29.
Visual shows the smugglers reversing their truck at high speed, colliding with an official vehicle and a civilian car. The impact triggered airbag deployment and caused minor damage, while one official sustained a leg injury. Despite the collision, the smugglers continued their attempt to flee but were eventually apprehended.
According to reports, the Central Narcotics Bureau (CBN) team from Madhya Pradesh was attacked at 6 AM. The team had set up a blockade at the Hanging Bridge Toll in Nayagaon after receiving intelligence about a large shipment of Doda being transported from Manasa to Bikaner. The pickup truck was seized, revealing 911.540 kg of doda-chura. Two smugglers, aged 23 and 24 from Nagaur and Bikaner, were arrested. This operation is part of a broader crackdown on narcotics in Madhya Pradesh, with the team having camped for 36 hours to catch the smugglers.
